Prototyping and 3D Print Finishing

3D Printing is amazing and it has begun to revolutionize many industries.  Many clients have come to us with 3D prints looking to use them as production masters.  With rare exception, we advise against this.  The mold making process recreates sub-microscopic detail and passes all of those details on to every casting for better or for worse.

Rather than create costly finish work on the production line, we offer a 3D Print Finishing Service.  This service takes a 3D print and transfers it to an industry standard wax model which is then toleranced and resurfaced to create a new production master that retains or improves all of the detail of the original without the undesirable “stair step” or surface blemishes common to many 3D printing processes.
